Stripey Kitty!!!

I've just finished making this stripey kitty.  I love it!  When I saw this sock I knew I would make a kitty with it!

This kitty doesn't have a home yet and is for sale - £8 plus £2.50 postage.  I've just put him in the 'For Sale' photo album over on Facebook.  SORRY NOW SOLD!!!!

Kanban Decoupage Card

At the Hobbycraft sale recently, I managed to pick up a Kanban decoupage sheet for just 29p.  It was fab as it had the card and the decoupage on it and you just popped it out and then made your card.  Unfortunately, they only had one there but I grabbed it as I thought it would be perfect for my niece for her 3rd birthday on 15 February.

It's nice as there is front and back decoration and it has my niece's favourite colour 'Pink' in it!!!  I've added some stickles glitter to it to give abit of sparkle and I also cut a number '3' on my bug using my new 'curls and swirls' alphabet dies which I stuck onto the disco ball.

These Kanban sheets make a really quick but nice card and if you see them in the sale, grab them!!!!

Fab Spa Day!!

Yesterday, I went with my sister for a spa day at a hotel in Brockworth in Gloucestershire.  I'd bought the vouchers on one of the lastminute.com £10 spa day offers as a birthday gift for my sister.  I'd recommend these days to everyone!!!  Fantastic value for the price and a relaxing and pleasant day was had by both my sister and myself.

We had the use of a lovely pool (abit cold though!!), a steaming hot jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.  I think we could also have used the gym but we didn't bother!!!  Also included in the price was a mini pedicure or manicure.  This varies from spa to spa with the voucher offer so you'd need to check on the spa you have chosen.  I chose to have a pedicure and opted for no polish and instead I had my feet filed, nails filed and a foot massage.  It was lovely and I felt relaxed after this!!  My sister opted for the nail filing and polish and was also pleased with the result!

We also had lunch at the hotel as there was a special spa buffet for £12 extra each.  This was lovely and plenty to eat including soup and salad to start and a dessert as well!!

We swam in the pool and used the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna several times!!!  There were some really friendly people at the spa yesterday and we chatted to several of them which was lovely.  It was so nice to be able to have a proper shower afterwards with showers that had doors on them!!!!  I'm by no means prudish but I do like to be able to relax and shower privately!!!!

After the day at the spa we dcecided to drive to Stroud to visit a much talked about shop called Home Bargains!!  Over on MSE there is a whole thread on the forum dedicated to this shop and the bargains people find there!!!  We did buy a few things there and left wishing we had a branch closer to where we live!!!!

I'd recommend the £10 Spa Days to everyone!!!  Last Minute do these specials every so often and I usually find out about them on MSE.  Next time they are available I will let you know so that you all get the chance to spend a lovely relaxing day like we did!

Fish Pie and a Fairly Productive Day!

Today I managed to get quite abit done!!  I finished a monkey, made a card and then made a fish pie!

I love fish pie and like to put a nice lot of varied fish and seafood in it.  Today I used prawns, scallops, salmon and some white fish!!!   It was lovely, you only need one portion and you feel stuffed!!!!  I like to put abit of wine in my fish pie also and lots and lots of cheese so not for the diet conscious!!!!  If you want the recipe you can find it here.

Tomorrow, I am having a nice 'ME' day with my sister.  We are off to a spa for the day to chill!!!  I bought the vouchers when Last Minute.com were having one of their special £10 spa days.  Ours includes a mini pedicure so I've just been trying to make my feet look abit more presentable for someone else to see!!!  Last Minute.com often have these £10 spa days on offer at spa's all around the UK so worth keeping an eye out for them.  I'll let you know how our day goes!!

A Gang of Boy Sock Monkeys!!

I know I only seem to be making sock animals lately but I am in the middle of making a card as well which I will hopefully be able to show you later in the week!!!!


These three bad boys are for an order, I was asked to make one look piratey lol. You've already seen one of the three but here are the other two

Off out later to search for some more nice socks!!!!  The shops will be thinking I have a sock fetish soon with the amount of socks I buy!!!!

Sock Dog!

I've been trying to make time to try out a few new sock animals but everytime I think I might get a chance I end up getting an order  and make that instead!!  This weekend in between doing an order, I had a go at making a Sock Dog.  I wasn't sure I was going to like it whilst I was making the dog but it's grown on me and I actually love the quirky look it has!!!  It was harder than the kitty and the monkey as it was abit fiddly in places.

Bag of Scraps!!

Last week I popped into the fabric shop in town to get some ribbons that I needed urgently.  I always have a rummage in the bargain bin and have picked up some nice bits from there.  Anyway, this time I found 2 small plastic bags of small bits of  fabric for 10p each!!!  I wasn't sure what was in the bag really but thought for that price I'd take a chance!  When I got home I emptied them out and tey were crammed full of fabric squares in lots of different textures and colours including velvet!!!

I have been wanting to do patchwork for ages so this will be perfect for it!  I just need to find a template for a nice Hexagon now to start it!

Mini Silicone Moulds

It's been a long time since I played with my fimo!!!  I had been searching for some mini moulds to use with it and came across a fab site called A World of Moulds.  It's a family run business and they have a fantastic selection of moulds made from silicone that are easy to use.  They can also be used for making sugarcraft cake toppers, candles, soaps and melts as well.

Their website is quite new and they will be adding more things to it shortly.  The customer service is great and they answer any queries promptly.

New Sentiment Stamps

Afternoon!!

I keep seeing some lovely sentiment stamps used on cards so when I saw a link to Pink Gem Designs I popped over to have a look.  I was glad I did as they have 20% off of all of their stamps during January!!!!  I ordered them on Sunday and they arrived today so really fast service.

Choice of Socks for Sock Creatures!!!

I'm trying to boost my sock creature orders and publicise them abit more!!!

Tigger Coloured Sock Monkey!

Afternoon - what a miserable day it is today!!!  I've sat sewing, finishing off a sock monkey that was ordered. The person wanted it to be in 'Tigger' colours as her little boy loves Tigger!!!!

I searched high and low for socks and eventually found just one pair!  Shame it wasn't close to Halloween as I am sure the shops would have been full of orange and black striped socks!!

More Bag Charms

Just a few more of my beaded bag charms to show you.  I love the scissors charm on the green bag charm, it's quite large so looks fab on the bag charms.  The other bag charm has some lovely colours in it - different shades of pink and purple and I think  they go together nicely.  I also like the decorative heart charm on this bag charm!!!

A Few More Kitties!!!

I've just finished off the faces on these 3 Sock Kitties!!!!  I had a break for a few days but thought it was about time the poor things got faces and ribbons!!!!

It's funny but each kitty has a different expession even though I think I am doing the same faces on them!!!
