All Wrapped Up!!

A while back I made a Pot of Gold for my brother for Christmas.  I decided not to wrap it in Christmas paper as I thought it would spoil the effect so I just used clear cello and gold curling ribbons on it.

Here it is

I made up some boxes for my nieces chocolates to go in.  I used the top and bottom of a perfume set box and decorated it with 'Merry Christmas', the letters were cut out on my bug and I also used the Santa Quickutz die which was fab and a Sizzix snowflake die!!  I then cello wrapped them and used some red curling ribbon to finish it off.  The kids loved them!

Christmas Tree!

I've not posted since before Christmas but have a few things to blog.

Firstly, I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and received lots of lovely crafting goodies!!!  I also hope that all of your handcrafted gifts were appreciated by the recipients!

We normally put up an artificial tree but I much prefer a real one.  This year my parents were away for Christmas so my sister and I decided we'd go and buy a real tree.  My goodness, haven't the prices shot up this year!!!  I was expecting to get a small one for about £4.99 - shows how long ago it was that I bought a real tree!!!!  We only wanted a small one about 4 and a half foot and in the end we got it from the local forestry place that sets up especially for Christmas.  I told the chap we didn't want to pay much as it would only be up for 2 weeks and was shown the bargain basement area of trees!!!!  He showed us some really sad looking trees and then I spotted one just outside of the area with the top abit broken!  As we would be cutting it abit anyway that was not a problem! We got it for £15 and was told that it is a Fraser Spruce which would be slow to lose it needles.

We had to get new lights as ours wouldn't work but here is the tree all decorated up!!

Fridge Magnet Christmas Cards!!

I wanted to make my nieces a simple but fun Christmas card this year that was abit more than a card.  As they are only 9 and 3 it had to be something appealing to them.

When I was in the US, I saw some nice 3D Wooden Christmas toppers that were  painted and I picked up 2 so that I could turn them into magnets to attach to a Christmas card.

I painted the toppers in a clear American Arts Glitter Varnish to give them abit of sparkle and stuck a small magnet to the back with Anita's 3D Gloss as this sticks very strongly.  I chose some co-ordinating paper and covered a card blank and stuck a magnet onto it.  I then put the topper onto the magnet on the card and that was it!!!

Here are the cards - simple idea yet my nieces loved them when I gave them to them tonight!

Christmas Card!

I've finally had some time to sit and make another Christmas card using one of the aperture card blanks that was kindly sent to me by Antonia (OAP over on MSE!!)

I gave this card to my sis in law this evening so can now blog it!!!

I used some gems and Christmas shaped buttons to decorate the card and Glanour Dust on the snowflakes on the backing paper and red Stickles on bucket that the tree is in.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Sparkle & Shine
Kaboodle Doodles - Clean and Simple Christmas
Allsorts - Last Minute Christmas Projects

A Lovely Thank You card!!!

Just wanted to share with you all this lovely card that I received a couple of days back from Yvette at  Amethyst Art who was the winner of my blog candy.  What a lovely surprise, so nice of her to send it to me.  I'm honoured as it is the first card that she has made.

They are £3.00 each plus £1.00 postage - if you buy more than one I will combine and weigh for reduced postage.

All beads are glass or silver plated so they dangle nicely over the spine of the book.
