Another Felt Flower!

Just a quick one today from me as I have taken a few weeks break from my crafting after the manic Christmas period!  I also was laid up with a heavy dose of flu and didn't feel up to doing anything except sleep!!

Anyway - I made another one of the cute felt flowers, this time in red with a black middle.  It kinda has a poppy look about it which is nice.  I want to make some sunshine yellow with brown middles as they will look like gorgeous sunflowers then!!

Here is the red 'poppy' one

Cute isn't it!  It will be going onto my Facebook page shortly!

I am off to a concert tonight.  I cannot remember the last time I went to a concert, I'm sure it was A Shakira concert in Bombay a few years back though!!  Tonight it is John Newman.  I love his voice, very soulful and strong.  If you haven't heard of him, check him out below:

Pretty Felt Flower Brooch

I was fiddling around last night trying to make a flower with felt but the felt was too thick for the type of flower I was trying to make!  Anyway, as I had already cut out some felt circles and didn't want to waste them, I made this instead!

I really love it and will be making some more in different colours.  I've done a tutorial in case you would like to have a go at making them - you can find it here.  Alternatively, once I have made some more, I will put them onto my Facebook page here where you can purchase them or order one in a colour of your choice!

Felt Christmas Tags

Well it won't be long now until Christmas.  I am not at all prepared this year as my dad has been unwell and is in hospital at the moment so I have been abit tied up with that.  Luckily, I don't have to many gifts to buy!

I helped to organise a 'Handmade Christmas Market last Saturday.  It was a big success and the people in my area really embraced 'Handmade' and came out in their droves to support it.  We had some fantastic feedback and I think we may do it annually now!

Each year, I find there is one particular item that I make that proves to be really popular.  The year before last, it was some mini gingerbread bunting, last year it was felt Santas with keys attached.  This year it has been my personalised felt tags.

I am busy making more of these this week as I have quite a few ordered.  So far, all of the names have been different.  It's quite surprising really as you usually get a few people with the same name, especially with children as people seem to name their kids with whatever names are trendy at the time!

Sentiment Hearts

Good morning - well it's morning here in the UK!!!  Surprisingly the sun is out today after several days of wet and windy weather so I may even venture out later!  I really don't like it when the weather starts to get cold, Winter is my least favourite season!  I am dreading the snow and ice, I tend to stay at home when that comes as I'm always worried about falling over.  Good thing that I can always find plenty to keep me occupied!

I've been making some more of my sentiment hearts - not sure if I've posted about these before but they are quite popular!

Here are the latest ones

All available to buy for £4.00 each plus postage over on my Bumble Bee's Craft Den Facebook page.  Pop on over and have a look, you will find them in the album entitled 'Hearts'.  Lots of other different ones there too that can be made up to order.  As well as UK addresses, I can also post to the US and Canada.

Thanks for stopping by!

Felt Gingerbread House

Oooh where does the time go!!  It's ages since I last blogged!  I've been fiddling around with felt and have made a start on Christmas decorations.  Of course as usual, I got sidetracked and end up making a little 3D gingerbread house for myself!!  I searched online and found several different ideas and then made a pattern and had a play.  It was abit fiddly and required some thought - I used cardboard on the two ends of it to reinforce and to give the house a nicer shape.  I used double thickness felt on the roof as well as I felt it needed to be abit more rigid.

Hope you like it as much as I do!!

Vintage Hearts

I recently bought some Sizzix Framelit Heart dies and have been making good use of them!!  I love hanging hearts and have several different types hung in my room.  I recently purchased a nice large slate one which I can use to jot down things that I need to remember.  At the moment it has details of the Vintage Chic Wedding Cupcake decorating course I am going along to on 16 March with Custom Cake Classes - I was due to do this course in December but the class got cancelled, hope this one gets enough people booked onto it!

I've been making some vintage inspired felt hanging hearts in a lovely vibrant red felt.

I bought another doily die last week from ebay - I have quite a few doily dies and love them.  Some of them like the Cheery Lyn ones look fab but do not cut very easily and you have to keep moving the die around and run it back and forth in your die cutting machine.  The one I bought last week was a newish one from Xcut and it cuts like a dream.  Some of the bits get stuck in the die but that's fine, I can live with that so long as it cuts the card properly without too much effort!  It's part of the Vintage Notes range.  I also bought a couple of the stamps from that range and the paper pack.  The die is retailing for around £9.99 but I got it on ebay for £7.99 - there is a lovely heart die in this range as well which I will be getting next!!

Here is the lovely heart one that I want!!!

Thanks for popping by!!

New Makes!!

Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening - depending on where you are!!

The weather has been very mixed here in the UK - some places getting snow whilst in the South West, we have had a mixture of sun, rain, hail and high winds!!  I've not been out much lately as I can't bear the cold!  As I am typing this thre is brilliant sunshine but it's very cold out there!!

I've made a few bits and pieces so thought I would show you them.

First of all another felt phone pouch with a cute bird on it.  The colour of the pouch is a really lovely deep teal but I cannot get a photo to do it justice!! No matter how I try, I cannot capture the wonderful colour properly!

The background of the photo is a new tea tray that I picked up in the sale in Debenhams.  I love it and it makes a great background for my photos!!

The next thing is a very simple heart bookmark - I saw the initial idea on Pinterest on this blog and she also has a template for the heart.  I recently bought a set of Sizzix Framelits Hearts so I used one of those for mine!!  I used a small co-ordinating heart and a button to decorate mine.  (The book I've used is the one I am currently reading!!)

Whilst I had my heart dies out, I made some mini heart bunting from felt and appliqued felt letters to spell the word 'LOVE'.  I used natural jute to hang them with as I like the rustic feel it gives to them.

Lastly, I made some felt bunting for my niece as it's her birthday soon.  I used an x-cut Pennant die that I bought recently and one of the heart dies again.  I handstitched the pennants and dies and then machine stitched them to the bias binding.  I am really pleased with how they came out - they are very pretty and as my niece loves pink, I'm sure she wll be thrilled with the bunting.

Hope you are all having a great week and thanks for stopping by!

New Makes - Phone Pouches and Bag Charms

Well the good news is that the snow has melted - yippeee!!!!  It is still pretty cold though!!!  The sun has made an appearance today though so maybe Spring is on it's way!!

I've got a few more phone cases to show you, my sister wanted one so made her one as well!!  Here are the ones I made - these don't have the flap over with the press studs like the other one that I made, they are a pouch style.  They are quite large and fit the iphone 4 nicely.

I know it's not Mother's day in the UK until March sometime but I thought I'd make up a couple of bag charms with 'Mum' charms on them.  The metal charms are really nice and I picked them up from ebay.

Here are the bag charms

The photos aren't great as the light kept changing today!!!  I did one in my favourite 'Salsa' mix of colours and the other in 'Ocean' colours.  Both are nice and bright and contain some gorgeous glass beads. They are for sale over on my Facebook page if anyone is interested!  Sorry UK addresses only.

Mobile Phone Case

I've got my first finished item made using the pattern and tutorial from my new Super-cute Felt book.

I made the hedgehog mobile phone case.  I used the same size as they suggested and my phone fits fine in it.  I am really pleased with how it came out and my mum thought it was so nice that I had to make her one as well!!!  I made hers slimmer as she has a much smaller, basic phone!!  This meant that I had to also resize the hedgehog!!

Here is my phone case

Cute isn't it!!!!

Super Cute Felt Book

For Christmas, I had a lovely book on making felt items.  I had asked for it and so was happy that someone bought it for me!!  The book is called Super Cute Felt.  It's got 35 step by step projects to make and I'm going to have a go at a few of them so watch this space!!!  I think I will mix and match them so as they aren't all exactly the same as the book though.

If you've not seen the book, head over to Amazon where you can flip through it before you purchase it!!

Felt Flower Brooches

Brrrr it's a colder morning today - the temperatures are set to drop and there has been talk of some snow!!  Hope it doesn't snow as I really don't like to have to leave the house when it is snowing!!!  I'm not very good with cold weather and for years I used to escape the winter and go to live in India for 6 months!

Anyway - I'm loving working with felt at the moment.  I have a huge pile of it in a rainbow of colours, it's lovely to look at!!

I've been making some flower brooches with some embroidery and bead and sequin detail on them.  The colours are lovely and bright.  They are nice and flat so sit nicely on a jumper or coat as well.

Sorry the photos aren't great because of the terrible light!  I found it very difficult to get the true colours to photograph well especially the teal ones which are lovely and bright in real life!!

I'm selling them over on my Facebook group - Bumble Bee's Craft Den so pop across if you'd like one!!

I've also made a felt hanging heart and I put a little of my dried lavender into it so it has a faint smell to it!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year and a Cute Felt Doll!

Well firstly, I'd like to wish all of my followers a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.  Here's hopng that 2013 is a fantastic year for everyone.

I've been busy today finishing off a cute felt doll and I am very pleased with how she came out.  I used a Ginger Melon pattern (I love these patterns!!) to make her.

The cutting out took ages!!!  I stitched up all of the pieces ready to join together.

The arms are movable like a plastic dolls.

And now she needs some clothes - can't have naked dolls all over the place!!!

Isn't she just the cutest thing ever!!!  She will be given to my niece next month for her 5th Birthday and I'm sure she will be very loved!!!
